On Thursday, 4 February 2016 over 30 people of diverse faith and cultural backgrounds joined the Brimbank Maribyrnong Interfaith Network in celebrating the World Interfaith Harmony Week 2016 at Sunshine Hospital..
Guests were welcomed to country by Wurundjeri Elder Uncle Bill Nicholson who explained the meaning of welcoming people to country and caring for the country. This was followed by a short introduction to spiritual care services at Western Health by Khanh Do. The keynote speaker of the event, Ms Nivy Balachandran, Coordinator at United Religious Initiative, talked about the origins of the Interfaith Harmony Week and the importance of interfaith dialogue and why it is needed today more then ever. The event was concluded by introduction and walk through the Spiritual Labyrinth with Rev Ray Gorman, Minister of Uniting Church in Sunshine.
